Our Story

At Irv’s, ice cream isn’t just dessert — it’s a love language. What started as a trolley at Cherry Street Pier has grown into a full-fledged shop in Bella Vista, but our mission remains the same: to create small-batch, handcrafted ice cream that tells a story.

Inspired by creative flavors, seasonal ingredients, a touch of Latin American influence, and the joy of sharing something sweet, we make every scoop from scratch, using quality ingredients and a whole lot of heart. From childhood nostalgia to unexpected seasonal creations, our menu is always evolving, but the feeling is always familiar — like a warm summer night, a first bite of something unforgettable, or a moment shared with a loved one.

At Irv’s, ice cream is how we take care of each other. So grab a cone and let us scoop you something special.

Meet Our Owner

Person in a tie-dye T-shirt leaning over a counter of a food truck, smiling, with a stack of napkins nearby.

I’m Ilissa Shapiro and Irv’s is named after my grandfather, who had an old-fashioned soda fountain in his basement. While I never met him, my grandmother passed on his love of ice cream, giving me my first scoop when I turned one. Growing up, every event—good or bad—was centered around food. It was how we came together and took care of each other. I spent countless hours in the kitchen with my grandmothers, learning how to cook and bake. Now, being married to a chef, that tradition of caring through food has only deepened. Each batch of ice cream I make carries that same spirit of care and connection.
